Comedy in the Park is a unique outdoor experience, bringing you some of the biggest and best names in comedy all on one stage! You will be guaranteed a night of side splitting laughter, with 7 of the world’s best comedians providing a night of entertainment in an open air theatre style setting. We will turn a section of some of the greatest park spaces in the UK into an incredible arena for the evening.
John Bishop – John headlines the first ever Comedy in the Park at Wicksteed Open Air Theatre. The combination of John Bishop’s ability to keep the laughs coming along with his unique brand of observational humour, his undeniable charm and unrivalled gift of creating a relaxed atmosphere mean that the feel good factor of spending an evening in his company is absolutely priceless.
Russell Kane – Multi-award-winning comedian, presenter, actor, author and scriptwriter Russell Kane is best known for the BBC Sounds podcast, Evil Genius which has become a flagship show and was the best performing original podcast on the platform. Russell’s other podcast Boy’s Don’t Cry also features regularly on the iTunes top charts for listened to podcasts and will return with a new series later this year. Recent TV appearances include The Apprentice You’re Fired, The One Show, Antiques Roadtrip, Stupid Man, Smart Phone and the host of three series of Live At The Electric. Other TV appearances include Live At The Apollo, Unzipped, Celebrity Juice and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here Now. Following the success of his sell-out tour throughout UK and Ireland, Russell has extended The Fast and The Curious far into 2020. Ed Gamble – Stand-up comedian Ed Gamble is known as a regular on Mock the Week (BBC2) and for being the co-creator and co-host of the hugely successful mega-hit podcast Off Menu with James Acaster. The podcast was an instant success, leaping to the top of the charts when released in 2018, and has consistently topped the iTunes and UK Comedy Podcast charts since. In just three series it has had over 28 million downloads. He is also the co-presenter of Radio X’sSunday morning show with Matt Crosby
Rob Beckett – One of the team captains on Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats and host of the hit Absolute Radio show Rock n’ Roll Football Rob is now a regular on our screens. His cheeky chappy persona has seen him perform on BBC Two’s Mock The Week, Live At The Apollo, Would I Lie To You and ITV’s Play To The Whistle.
Al Murray – Al Murray with his alter-ego, “The Pub Landlord”, is one of the most recognisable and successful comics in the UK. For over 20 years Al has filled arenas around the world, won numerous awards and accolades and has successfully hosted an array of TV series which include “Al Murray’s Happy Hour” (ITV) and the ground breaking sitcom “Time Gentlemen”.
Nish Kumar – Critically acclaimed comic, internationally famed meme & wonderfully nice gentleman, Nish Kumar is a comedian, and a bloody good one at that (Time Out). Nish has achieved huge success on the stand-up circuit with five rave reviewed solo stand-up shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, two of which have been nominated for the prestigious Comedy Award for Best Show in both 2015 & 2016. On screen you can catch up with Nish on the likes of Q.I., Mock The Week & Live At The Apollo both as a stand-up guest and host (all BBC Two), Have I Got News For You & The John Bishop Show (BBC One), 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4) and Taskmaster (DAVE)Nish starred alongside fellow comic Joel Dommett in a 6-part travelogue for Comedy Central, Joel and Nish vs The World and hosts his own satirical, spoof, news series, The Mash Report, for BBC Two.
Desiree Burch – Desiree recorded her critically acclaimed, debut Edinburgh festival show, ‘This Is Evolution” as a TV special for, ‘Live From The BBC ‘(BBC3) and has recently recorded a 2nd stand up special for Comedy Central. Her recent Edinburgh hour, ‘Unfuckable’ was a sold out hit at The Edinburgh Fringe and went onto two fantastic, sold out runs at The Soho Theatre. She also travelled to Just For Laughs in Montreal and recorded a set for Kevin Hart’s LOL Network in 2018.
